All interventions are executed to reach the ultimate effect WELFARE. Welfare can only be achieved when you have two essential preconditions HEALTH and INCOME (and with income things like good housing, personal transport, leisure and electrical power can be afforded). INCOME is the most difficult effect to reach. At least one should have a good HEALTH and some KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS. To obtain OWN INCOME one should have either employment via a (social) venture or be working as a knowledge worker. Another well known way is to have a small business where one needs some (micro finance) capital to invest in tools, equipment and/or working capital. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS are obtained via various levels of education & training centres and (very important) a good HEALTH. HEALTH can be reached through a number of interventions: safe water, sanitation, hygiene, good nutritional food, medical care, safe habitation (safe from snakes, water). Before any of the effects can be reached we need communication and transport in order for the sponsors to be able to reach the target community and for the people to be able to interact with their direct outside world. Each intervention costs money (non recurring and recurring) and in order to be able to reach sustainability the OWN INCOME should be enough to pay for them. Since in many places on this earth there is a poverty trap (the OWN INCOME remains too low) and therefore EXTERNAL INCOME is essential to break the poverty trap. Within a period of 3 to 5 years the external money component should be gradually lowered since healthy, well educated, skilled and equipped people should be able to take care of all their own cost of living.
