Ownership

This project is initiated and carried out by Rural Relief & Development Foundation and has it's own webpage.

The slum program serving in total 968 childrens between 0 and 12 years of age is executed in 6 slums around Chilakaluripet.

Heavy duty stainless steel plates and cups are used to serve the food:

SLUM #1. N.R.T. Road Side Dwellers - 140 children

A notice board is constructed for each SLUM program center:

A shed of palmtree leaves is constructed to serve the meals and to conduct the classes:

SLUM2. Jalaiah Colony - 115 children

3. Maddi Nagar Road Side Dwellers - 453 children

In this SLUM we are allowed to use the back yard of a very friendly lady who lives on the same road.

SLUM #4. Jagupalem Scavengers colony - 89 children

Scavengers do the dirty work for the rich(er) families in India: cleaning their toilets with their bare hands and feet. Their children often have a life of begging and working in cotton factories and seldom go to school.

SLUM #5. Jiddu Colony - 115 children

This slum is actually a group gypsies living just outside Chilakaluripet very near to the VEDA school.

SLUM #8. SLUM - Kondrupadu (scavengers colony) - 56 children
